Today, we are presenting a project to build a BA13 plasterboard partition in Nice, where we created a dividing wall combining thermal and acoustic performance with meticulous finishes.
A solid, insulating structure
For this project, our teams built a complete partition in line with best practice, following every step essential to a durable, high-quality installation.
Metal framework: we began by installing a structure of metal rails and studs, fixed to the floor, the ceiling and the adjoining walls. This sturdy framework ensures the stability and perfect straightness of the future partition.
Thermal and sound insulation: between the metal studs, we inserted a generous thickness of glass wool, providing optimal thermal insulation while offering excellent acoustic attenuation between the two spaces. This step is essential for the everyday comfort of the occupants.
In the first images, you can see the careful installation of the framework and the complete filling of the space with insulation, ensuring optimal performance across the entire surface of the wall.
Professional finishes for an impeccable result
Once the insulation was in place, we moved on to the finishing stages that guarantee a perfect result:
Fitting the BA13 plasterboard: the boards were screwed precisely to the metal framework, respecting the regulation spacing of the fixings. BA13, a recognised quality standard, provides a smooth, durable surface ready to take any type of finish.
Joint treatment: we applied a special jointing compound to all the joins between boards, as well as to the screw heads. This step, carried out in several passes, ensures a perfectly flat, even surface with no visible trace of the joins.
Integration with existing features: the new partition blends harmoniously with the room’s existing features, including the marble-effect floor tiles, the grey brick-effect wallpaper and the recessed LED spotlights in the ceiling.
